Clearing the Dump Zone (ILS Movie Box)

When the ILS movie box encounters an error returning or dispensing a movie, it will attempt to place the movie the dump zone - the last 20 slots (rightmost) in the bottom row. If the dump zone is full and the movie box attempts to place a movie into this area, the movie box will enter an error state. 

To empty the dump zone, scan the staff card and enter the corresponding PIN.

When prompted, select Administration mode. 

In the Staff menu, select Clear Dump Zone.

The picker will begin retrieving discs from the dump zone and will dispense them through the slot, one at a time. This requires a staff member to stand at the machine and collect each movie as it is dispensed. If the dump zone is full this may take up to 5 minutes.

If the dump zone is full or near full, it may be quicker to manually retrieve the dump zone items. This can be done by unlocking the front door and manually retrieving the items from the last 20 slots. If the items are manually retrieved, the Clear Dump Zone option will still need to be selected from the staff menu. This is necessary to clear the slots in the database.
