Surplus Technology

On occasion staff have asked to purchase surplus technology.  This is equipment that no longer meets standards of public service and has been properly removed from PLS inventory following the Board Policy for Surplus or Obsolete Equipment.  A list of surplus items will be located on monthly Board Agendas and are typically recycled within a week after board approval.  If you wish to purchase a surplus item, you will need to fill out the attached equipment release agreement and return it to the technology coordinator.  Prices for commonly requested items are listed below.  The base price does not include the sales tax which is currently 8.76%.  Payment is to “Pioneer Library System” and would be remitted to Doug Buck at admin after the item has been approved as surplus by the board.

  • $100 – Laptop or Desktop - As a reminder part of the surplus process includes wiping the hard drive which will remove all personal files and return the device to factory settings.  With 8.76% = $108.76
  • $50 – Monitor or iPad (reset to factory default) with 8.76% = $54.38
