Filament Restrictions

Some types of filament can only be used with specific Bambu 3D printer models, require specific nozzle sizes or types, or require a specific type or lack of an AMS (Automated Material System). When looking at filament in the Bambu Lab store, look at the Cautions for Use section and be sure that you are not requesting a filament that is incompatible with your 3D printer.  After receiving filament that can only be used in specific situations, be sure to label the filament with the restrictions so it is not accidentally used incorrectly or installed in an incompatible 3d printer model.

Example: PLA glow filament

Based on the cautions, PLA Glow is not compatible with a 3D printer using an AMS lite. If you have an A1 model with AMS lite and want to use this filament, you must notify your tech so that the AMS lite accessory can be removed. If you intend to print with this filament type frequently, an upgraded .4 hardened nozzle must also be installed. The filament is compatible with the A1 mini, A1 model without an AMS, and PS1 with or without an AMS that have a nozzle size larger than .2 mm.

Bambu Lab also has a nice guide to help you select the correct filament collection based on your intended use or filament properties (flexible, UV resistant, water resistant, etc.) or 3d printer type owned.  https://bambulab.com/en/filament/collections

Some types of filament require that you dry the filament before use.  The filament specs and this type of information can be found here: https://bambulab.com/en/filament/guide
